Jan Cannon, MBA, PhD
Since 1994, Jan has been a career advisor, helping individuals and groups with career decisions and job search techniques. Her practical approach helps clients find the jobs they want and then offers techniques to get them. Jan works with clients throughout the US via telephone, the internet, and in her Boston-area office.
She is quoted in The Wall Street Journal, AARP Bulletin, The Christian Science Monitor, Women's World, Working Mother and Business 2.0 and writes for the Boston Herald (www.print.jobfind.com), WomenWork.org, BellaOnline.com, staffITnow.com and other websites. Jan is often a radio and cable TV guest, speaking on career and employment topics. She also teaches courses on entrepreneurship, small business marketing, career decision-making and networking, among others.

She left a full-time job to be more available for her teenaged children (she was widowed) and took the financial risk to start her own business of career advising. Her background as a dental office manager, English teacher, small business owner (manufacturer of children's wear under the Sandbox Sportswear label), college administrator and single mother have given her life preparation as well as the MBA and PhD credentials she earned along the way to creatively help others solve their career dilemmas and grow in their work. She has over 20 years of experience in career advising, teaching, management and consulting.
